Wordle: shoes
Please remember that your child will need to bring 2 pairs of indoor shoes: 1 pair of black dress shoes and 1 pair of indoor running shoes. These shoes will remain at school. If you child cannot tie laces on their own, please send in slip-on or velcro shoes. Please label your child's shoes. Children often have the same or very similar shoes. Thanks for your assistance.

Please be advised that St. Jude's is a nut free facility. When purchasing items for your child's lunch, please read the packages carefully. If the label says, "may contain nuts", please refrain from sending that item. Look for products with the nut-free label.

What is the Knight of the Day?

The Knight of the Day is the special person and helper for the day. Each student in the SK/Grade One class will have a turn. Check the calendar posted on the blog (simply click on SK/Grade One Calendar title) to find out when your child is the Knight of the Day.

When it is your child’s turn to be the Knight of the Day, he or she is to bring in something from home to show the class – the Knight’s Secret Surprise. The Knight of the Day will give the class three clues as to what is in the bag and the rest of the class must guess the Knight’s Secret Surprise. For example:

It’s something that starts with the letter D
I sleep with it at night
It’s brown
Answer: My stuffed dog!

For students in grade one:
Once the item has been shown to the class, students must give further information about the object:
-why the item is special to them or why they chose that item (please avoid, "because I like it."
-how they acquired the item (Was it a gift? Did they save their money to buy the item? Did they make it?)
-how often they use the item

Things for everyone to keep in mind:
· The item must fit in the bag provided (no part should stick out as it will ruin the surprise)
· Each student will give the class three clues as to what is in the bag
· You may help your child come up with three clues, or it may been done independently
· The clues don’t need to be written down
· Please don’t send in anything of great value

The First Day of School

The first day of school is September 1. Students are to come dressed in their regular uniform. Please send in all of your child's school supplies on this day.

Parent Orientation Night

Thank you to all the parents that braved the storm and made in to our annual Parent Orientation Night. If you weren't able to make it, there is an info package for you. There are several forms for you to fill out. All forms are due September 4.

On the side bar, you will notice a calendar. Please click on the title. This will bring up a full size class calendar that you can print off. I will have the calendar updated prior to September 1. Each month, simply click on the title and you'll see what is planned for the month including the Knight of the Day.
