CAT 4

This Wednesday, the grade one students will be writing the CAT (Canadian Achievement Test). This test assesses students' reading, language, spelling and math skills. The CAT also evaluates how well students perform in comparison to other students across Canada.

There is no specific preperation for this test. The test is comprised of elements that have been taught throughout the year. We will be taking the test together. Please make sure your child gets proper rest and eats a good breakfast. Please be on time and present for the day.

Casual Day

Tomorrow is casual day.

Spelling

This week is a review week in spelling. There is NO test this week.

Tomorrow is Earth Day. After lunch we will be walking to the local park to pick up garbage. Please dress in green and blue. Don't forget to bring a hat and wear sunscreen.

Grandparent's Day

Once again, we will be celebrating Grandparent's Day in May. All grandparents are invited to come. A tour, food and class presentations are just some of the things the grandparents will enjoy. Please send in addresses for your grandparents. We will be sending out invitations by mail to those grandparents both near and far. Even if you think that your grandparents will be unable to attend, we would still like to send them an invitation. Please send in the addresses by Wednesday.

Science Fair

The grade 1-8 students have been busy working on science fair projects. The grade one students have completed a science fair project. It will be on display this Wednesday afternoon until 6 pm. Please make sure you stop by and check it out.

The St. Jude's Skate-a-thon is this Friday. The goal is to raise $2500. If every child raises $40 we will meet our target.

As you are putting away all the winter gear, please check to see if you have an extra pair of snowpants. One student is still missing their snowpants. If you find them, kindly return them to the lost and found.
