Remembrance Day

Dear Parents,

This Wednesday is Remembrance Day. There is no school on Wednesday. Please use this day to talk to your child about the great sacrifices that have been made by others so that we might enjoy freedom. We will be learning about Remembrance Day in class on Tuesday. I would encourage you to take your child to your local cenotaph to observe a Remembrance Day service.  There is a Remembrance Day Service at the
cenotaph in Streetsville. Veterans begin marching at 10:15am from the Legion to the cenotaph.
 
We will be watching this video in class and discussing it. I chose this videos because it talks about the war and the great sacrifices made, but avoids graphic pictures. I would encourage to watch the video at home with your child.

Mrs. Wheeler will be away

Dear parents,

I will be away this Thursday and Friday. I have the fortunate opportunity to accompany several grade 7 and 8 students from SJA to the UN. I will be returning Monday. Mrs. Foster will  be here in my absence. Mrs. Foster is one of the supply teachers at SJA.

I look forward to telling you about the trip upon my return.
