Stones
On Monday, please bring in a smooth stone. We will be painting stones on Monday. The stone does not have to be large - just large enough to paint initials or a small symbol. We are learning about the the first writing. Egyptians first wrote on stone. They used pictures called hieroglyphs. The Sumerians wrote on clay. Their picture-writing is called cuneiform. Egyptians then learned to write on paper made of reed called papyrus. This week, we will be experimenting will all three methods.
